Probationary Periods
Probationary periods are commonplace in most businesses. They help us to confirm that there is a good employment match and that our working relationship will be long standing and mutually beneficial.
As a new employee, you will be subject to a probationary period as detailed in your terms and conditions of employment. This is to provide the opportunity for both you and the A1 Group to get to know each other, and in the event that there is not a good match, then with the minimum disruption either you may leave, or the A1 Group may ask you to leave.
During this probationary period, the notice period is 1 week on either side. Thereafter, your notice period will be that which is stated in your terms and conditions of employment. During this time, you will not be entitled to certain employment benefits. Please refer to your terms and conditions of employment.
Prior to the end of your probationary period, your Manager will complete a form that evaluates your overall performance during your probationary period. This form is returned to a Partner to review and provided that you have satisfactorily completed your probationary period, you will be sent a letter of confirmation.
If you have not satisfactorily completed your probationary period, you will be given a one week notice of termination. Occasionally, if there has been insufficient opportunity to assess the match between you and the A1 Group, we will extend the probationary period and inform you in writing.
If you wish to leave the A1 Group during the probationary period, you are asked to give 1 weeks’ notice and confirm this in writing to your Manager.
